Eye Exams

Our comprehensive eye exams are an integral part of your overall health and preventative care. Regular eye exams help to evaluate, correct and monitor eye focusing problems like nearsightedness, farsightedness, presbyopia, astigmatism, and binocular vision problems. An annual eye exam can also reveal underlying health conditions. Many systemic diseases such as diabetes mellitus, lupus erythematosus, sarcoidosis, and rheumatoid arthritis affect the eyes and vision. Likewise diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eyes and retinal detachment may all be discovered initially through a routine annual eye exam.

Treatment of Eye Diseases & Disorders

Many eye diseases are on the rise that involve increased eye pressure, itching, swelling and inflammation. Often a result of an underlying condition such as an autoimmune disorder or congenital defect or condition. Our office has a wide range of experience treating most common and many less common eye diseases. Dr. Giannetti studied for treatment of ocular disease under highly regarded eye specialists at the University of Chicago while in optometry school. Drs. Todd, Giannetti and Ralston keep updated with the latest technology and treatment plans to properly diagnose and manage most ocular conditions.

Dispensary Services

Making sure our patients receive the correct eyewear is crucial to comprehensive eye care. Our full service optical dispensary provides our patients with the convenience of filling their prescription on site with a wide selection of the latest designer frames, lenses and contacts. Not only do our dispensary staff have extensive experience helping our patients achieve the best vision possible, we also have an in house lab that can repair glasses and make adjustments.

Vision Therapy

Many children and adults struggle with problems resulting from problems with eye alignment, focusing, and tracking. Often these problems result in poor school performance, headaches, excessive eye fatigue and shortened attention span. Adults often experience severe eye discomfort after extended periods of near or computer work. Problems such as convergence insufficiency, convergence excess, divergence excess, accommodative insufficiency (AI), esotropia, and exotropia may all be helped with vision therapy. For some patients short programs of vision therapy may well control these problems. Other patients require extensive vision therapy to reduce their complaints. While our office does not provide prolonged in-office we will recommend office that will be happy to assist you.

LASIK, SMILE and PRK Evaluations

There are many forms of refractive surgery available to our patients. You may have heard names such as IntraLase femtosecond laser, bladefree, iLASIK, IntraLASIK, bladeless, no blade all-laser LASIK, CustomVue, VISX WaveScan, and SMILE. Our office keeps up to date on all the latest options available for our patients. Not everyone is a good candidate for refractive surgery procedures and the costs vary greatly depending upon many variables. We can offer you options and advice as well as expert follow-up care after surgery. In most cases, after an evaluation in our office, we can arrange no-charge consultations with the surgeon for these procedures
