Glasses

We stock frames from 14 different manufacturers and over 50 different designers. We feature Maui Jim sunglasses, and can create custom sunglass clips for virtually any prescription or frame. Cole Hann, Jimmy Choo, Ted Baker and Lulu Guiness headline our brands. We prescribe several brands of progressive lenses for great looking bifocal and trifocal orders. Transitions lenses provide a changing tint for activities in bright and dimmer conditions which can be used in any frame style or brand. We frequently suggest high index lenses to help make even the highest prescriptions look much thinner and feel much lighter weight for greater appearance and comfort.

Single Vision Lenses

This refers to a lens with only one focusing power. It may be a lens designed for distance vision, computer work, or reading. It applies to both glasses and contact lenses.

Bifocal Lenses

Technically, this is a lens with two separate powers. However, this term is often applied to progressive lenses that have variable power changes. This can apply to either glasses or contact lenses.

Trifocal Lenses

Technically, this is a lens with three separate powers. However, this term is often applied to progressive lenses that have variable power changes. This can apply to either glasses or contact lenses.

Progressive Lenses

The “lay” term for these lenses is “no-line bifocals”. They gradually change in power between the distance and reading part of the lens. This term may apply to either glasses lenses or contact lenses.

Transitions

This is a tint available in plastic glasses lenses that allow the lens to become darker when exposed to UV light. The tint is regarded as a comfortable, simple-to-use tint. There are two downsides to this tint. First, they are medium darkness tints and secondly they will not work inside a relatively new auto with the windows up. Newer windows filter out all UV light which is needed to make the lenses get darker.

Safety Glasses

Many employers require industrial safety glasses for use on the job. Even when they are not required. These safety glasses provide greatly improved eye safety in hazardous conditions. We recommend safety glasses for many home projects such as lawn mowing and trimming, welding, automotive work and any others where there is the potential for flying particles or chemical spills.

Sunglasses

Prescription and non-prescription sunglasses are stylish and protect your eyes. Many people mostly associate sunglasses with summertime, but winter can also be a troublesome time due to the lower angle of the sunlight even mid-day. Polarized lenses can be especially desirable since they selectively filter much of the light that is reflected off flat surfaces such as the road, water, and your and other cars. Transitions, polarized and high quality tinted lenses will all provide 100% UV protection.
